Choosing a Pathway

How Pathway Selection Works

  1. 1

    Explore in Junior School

Learners experience all learning areas in Grade 7–9 and discover their strengths.

  2. 2

    Career guidance

Mentorship and career talks connect interests to future careers.

  3. 3

    Assessment records

Junior School assessment results and portfolios show demonstrated potential.

  4. 4

    Family conversation

Learners, parents and teachers discuss options together.

  5. 5

    Pathway selection

At the end of Grade 9, learners select a pathway and track for Senior School.

Guidance from our team

Pathway selection happens at the end of Junior School (Grade 9). It is informed by the learner's interests, their performance and assessment records across Junior School, career guidance, and conversations between the learner, parents and teachers.

Our team walks with every Grade 9 learner and family through this decision. The tracks and subjects listed here reflect what the school currently offers or plans to offer, and are updated in line with KICD curriculum designs.
