Grade Overview
About Playgroup
Playgroup is a gentle, loving introduction to school life. Children learn to separate confidently from home, make friends, follow simple routines and discover the joy of learning through play, songs and stories.
Teachers
Each class is led by a trained early-childhood teacher supported by a caregiver, ensuring every little learner gets attention, care and encouragement.

Learning & Development
About Playgroup
Playgroup welcomes children at around three years of age. The day is structured but relaxed, balancing guided activities, free play, snack time and rest so that children feel secure and happy.
Learning Environment
Our playgroup classroom is bright and colourful, with child-sized tables and chairs, a book and toy corner, and displays of the children's own artwork. Outdoor areas let children run, climb and explore safely.
Early Childhood Development
We nurture the whole child — physical, cognitive, social, emotional and spiritual development — following early-childhood best practice and the CBE emphasis on every child's potential.
Play-Based Learning
Play is how young children learn. Building blocks, puzzles, pretend play, sand and water activities develop thinking, language and problem-solving naturally.
Social Development
Children learn to share, take turns, say please and thank you, and work in small groups — building friendships and good manners.
Language Development
Daily songs, rhymes, picture books and conversation grow vocabulary and listening skills in English and Kiswahili.
Creative Activities
Painting, colouring, play-dough, collage and music give children many ways to express themselves.
Physical Development
Climbing, running, jumping, ball games and fine-motor activities like threading and cutting build strength and coordination.
Parent Engagement
We keep parents closely informed about their child's settling in and progress, and welcome parents to celebrations and fun days.
