Grade Overview
About PP2
PP2 is the bridge to Primary School. Children grow in early reading and writing, number sense, communication and independence — and celebrate their achievement at our much-loved PP2 graduation ceremony.
Teachers
Each class is led by a trained early-childhood teacher supported by a caregiver, ensuring every little learner gets attention, care and encouragement.
PP2
Learning & Development
Learning Experiences
Theme-based lessons combine stories, songs, experiments, games and art. Children work in pairs and groups and begin longer, more focused activities.
School Readiness
We build independence — managing belongings, following instructions, focusing on tasks and expressing needs — so children start Grade 1 confident and capable.
Communication
Learners speak in full sentences, retell stories, recite poems, and begin reading simple words and writing letters and their names.
Numeracy
Counting and writing numbers, simple addition and subtraction with objects, patterns, shapes, time and money in everyday contexts.
Creative Activities
Art, craft, music, dance and drama — PP2 learners often perform at school events and festivals.
Social Development
Learners take on small classroom responsibilities, practise kindness and teamwork, and learn to resolve disagreements respectfully.
Environmental Awareness
Caring for plants and the school compound, hygiene habits, weather and seasons, and learning about the community around us — including educational trips.
